Robert William Thomson

Robert "Bob" Thomson, age 80, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025.
Bob's life was a testament to love, family, and perseverance. He was the devoted husband of the late Audrey and a proud father to Matthew (Shannon), Jordan (Richelle), and Robert "Bobby" (Madison). He was also a cherished grandfather to Jordan, Finley, Jaylee, Fia, Jessica, Julia, and Riley.
Family was the center of everything Bob did. He dedicated his life to creating a warm and supportive home, where laughter filled the air, stories were shared, and hugs were always plentiful. No matter the challenge, Bob worked tirelessly at a variety of jobs to support his family, showing his unshakable dedication and love for them.
Bob had a lively spirit and enjoyed a good challenge—whether that was at the racetrack, where he loved gambling and betting on the horses, or during a spirited family poker game. His competitive nature and zest for life were contagious, and he always made sure that everyone had a seat at the table, both in games and in life.
His love, wisdom, and guidance will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Bob’s legacy is one of joy, hard work, and devotion to those he loved.
Cremation has taken place.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday August 27th at 1pm at Groveside Cemetery, located at 5155 Baldwin St South, Whitby, ON L1M 1T4.
