Saleh, Nelly

August 1929 - September 2025
Saleh, Nelly August 1929 - September 2025 In Loving Memory of Nelly (van Dijk) Saleh Our dear sister and aunt, Nelly (van Dijk) Saleh, went to be with her Lord and Saviour. She passed away quietly in her sleep at the age of 96, on September 2nd, 2025 in Ajax, Ontario. Nelly was born in the Netherlands to Johan and Lena Van Dijk. In 1992 she married Morad Saleh who preceded her in death. Nelly was a prayer warrior for her family members, friends and those she gathered with at Christian Assemblies in Toronto and Ajax. Nelly graduated with a RN degree in 1954, went to Canada to help out her brother's family, and ended up staying. In 1965, she became a Canadian citizen. Nelly worked for many years at The Sick Children’s Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, caring for little babies. She also was a caregiver to a dear elderly friend whom she shared an apartment with for many years. Nelly is survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters: Johannes van Dijk, Herman van Dijk, Tom (Margreet) van Dijk, Corry van Dijk, and Heleen Wijntje as well as many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care given by the Ballycliffe Staff in Ajax. As so many of us are from out of town, it was so comforting to know that Nelly was loved and her needs met by such thoughtful and considerate staff. They all deserve a standing ovation!
Visitation will be September 11th at 11:00 am at: Accettone Funeral Home, 384 Finley Ave., Ajax, ON, L1S 2E3. The Funeral service will be at 11:30 am. Everyone is invited for a luncheon at 12:15 pm following the services. This will be at the same location. A private family burial will follow the luncheon.
Charitable donations can be sent to: Believers Bookshelf Canada, PO Box 75, Caistor Centre, ON, L0R 1E0 Canada or SickKids Foundation NICU
